Date: 12/17/1999 3:24 PM Subject: Proposed Regulation FD I applaud the proposed full disclosure regulation as I understand it. Because they are like any other private entity in the investing world, brokerages obviously need not have privileged access to information on companies in which they may be choosing to invest for either themselves or their clients. It seems simple, but people who have enjoyed prilvelege rarely cede it quietly. As individual investors become more and more savvy, and as the internet makes new styles of investing possible, broad dissemination of information becomes that much more important. As an employee of a non-profit invested in granting resources and information (principally surrounding food and access to it) to the disenfranchised, I believe in leveling the playfield. Congratulations on applying the concept in the financial world. Matt Havens Boston, MA
