Subject: Proposed Regulation FD

Rather than repeat all the reasons your proposed regulation will be 
beneficial to the legion of independent investors that are using the 
resources of the WWW for information, and as much as I agree that this will 
be wonderful for us, perhaps there is another more important benefit for us 
and our government.
     The fact that the SEC if fulfilling its mandate to protect the public, 
rather than protecting the industry they are regulating, is astounding in 
this era of special interests!  Granted that historically the SEC has always 
done a superior job in this regard, I think it will provide an excellent 
example to cite showing that our Federal Government can actually provide a 
service that protects the public.
     Thank you for your efforts to provide a level playing field for 
independent investors, both small and not so small.
