Date: 03/22/2000 8:35 AM Subject: Comment Regarding Proposed Regulation FD Dear Chairman, I am taking this opportunity to voice my support of proposed Regulation FD. I am in complete agreement with the principle of fair disclosure. As currently practiced, selective disclosure is a disservice to the investment community and serves to foster and perpetuate an environment in which research is clouded at best and compromised at worst. The proposed Regulation FD would serve to release analysts from a feeling that they need to "play ball" to maintain access to critical information or suffer by having less information than their peers or competitors who are willing to "play ball". Selective disclosure is unfair to small firms without the client base of the major firms, as well as the investing public, Jane and John Doe. Thank you. Gary L.
