Date: 1/5/98 1:15 PM Subject: Rule S7-25-97 (the stockholder gag rule) I am appalled! How dare the SEC propose a rule that would prevent stockholder initiatives from being deliberated and voted upon at OPEN stockholder meetings. The big guys have more than enough of their share of ways to block efforts to assure that fair employment practices (such as sex and race discrimination and harassment)are carried out. They don't need another rule that prevents stockholders from forcing them to clean up their acts. I hope that the members of the SEC will see the error of their ways and back off of gagging the voices of those who care about the rights of people and believe that earning profits is not the only role of major corporatins. Sincerely, Annette J. Samuels
