Dear Mr. Levitt,
        I am writing to express my alarm and dismay at the intent of bill
S7-25-97.  Corporations already control innumerable decisions affecting the 
lives of US citizens, to an extent that seriously undermines the democratic 
culture of our country.  To place limitations like those proposed on the 
expression of shareholder opinion would be to destroy what is left of 
democratic process in the capitalist marketplace.  How hollow are 
capitalists' claims to foster freedom and democracy if they can consider 
imposing a gag rule such as this one!
