From: Lisa Peterson [lisa@aticts.com] Sent: Wednesday, March 31, 2004 4:00 PM To: rule-comments@sec.gov Subject: S7-19-03 SEC: I applaud your effort to begin restoring investor confidence in the badly-tarnished mutual fund industry. On behalf of all of us investors (and would-be investors) that are gun-shy after the mutual fund scandals, please do not allow this effort to be derailed. It is crucial to allow investors to nominate board members in order to begin to regain the trust that has been lost over the past few years. This change will make a big difference for future investors considering mutual funds vs. other investments, and therefore can give the mutual-fund industry a much-needed boost. Everyone likes to feel like they can make a difference if they want to; in fact, our democratic government is predicated on this premise. That's how important I think this first step is. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Lisa Peterson -- Lisa Peterson, Operations Manager Data Enterprises of the Northwest 425-688-8805
