From: Jim Mueller [muellerj@turbonet.com] Sent: Monday, March 29, 2004 8:18 PM To: rule-comments@sec.gov Subject: Support for proposal of shareholder board nominations Dear Sir or Madam, I wish to express my support of the SEC's proposal to mandate that companies allow shareholder nominees to the board of directors to be on the companies' proxy statements. Even though I own just a few shares in just a few companies (not counting my index fund or managed mutual fund), I srupulously vote my shares at each annual meeting. I often disagree with the board's recommendations on various motions, especially shareholder sponsored ones. Even those these motions are almost always passed as the board desires, a rule such as the proposed one is a small break in the dam of board inattentiveness to shareholder interest. Maybe in a few years, further shareholder-friendly rules can become enacted. At some point, my votes will actually count for something. One may hope. I read the article addressing this issue on The Motley Fool (http://www.fool.com/news/commentary/2004/commentary040329ec.htm?source=EDNWFT) and agreed that I should write.
