Gentlemen: I heartily endorse a policy which would result in simplification of mutual fund prospectuses. Although I generally read each prospectus in detail while making a purchase judgment, I am aware of many who do not. I have had to summarize prospectuses to family members who, although they hold college, and graduate school degrees, are daunted by the "legalese" and convoluted phraseology of these documents. These people would be more inclined to read a simple, straight-forward description of the costs, the investment policies and the purchase and redemption procedures if they were simply stated.
