Subject: Don't go to profiles! Date: 6/17/97 1:31 PM As a new investor just now making investment decisions about mutual funds, I implore you not to go forward with the profile prospectus proposal. Rather the hard work by both the fund companies and the SEC of making prospectuses readable must be done to assure me and others that we are fully informed, as owners of assets should be. Already with the existence of the 'infamous' Part B of prospectuses, I am faced with two levels of information before I can make a fully informed decision. The profile proposal proposes a reassuring (but less informative) additonal 'icing' document, which will leave most investors less informed and perhaps inappropriately assured. Even more work will be required to dig to the facts of a mutual fund investment. _____ Aaron Ezekiel, Senior Analyst Information Resource Center CIRT University of New Mexico 2701 Campus Blvd. NE Albuq., NM 87131 email: aezekiel@unm.edu ph: 505-277-8059 WWW: www.unm.edu/cirt fax: 505-277-8101
