Subject: s7-16-97 Author: Brad at Internet Date: 1/20/98 10:46 AM Hello, I feel that something needs to be done to regulate or at least make people responsible for what they say on the internet conserning stocks. As an example, on the BB known as Silicon Investor, the board dedicated to Franklin Telecomunications has recently be inendated by messages from "VALUESPEC". This person is unknown to the users of the board but has been talking negativly about the stock without regard to known facts about the company. I think it is an atempt to munipulate the price of the stock. Then, just this morning "VALUESPEC" posted the following message. " From: VALUESPEC Tuesday, Jan 20 1998 2:54AM EST Reply # of 25527 ELK, sure I'm short. I'll fulfill your fantasy for you. And watch out! I can manipulate stocks to do what I want them to do, and I want FTEL to go down. Quick! Sell before its too late :o VALUESPEC" Silicon Investor is a public form and many people see comments like this and might believe this person and possibly sell there position at a loss. As a result, VALUSPEC will have munipulated the price. Is this legal or slander? This person is also starting their own web page located at www.valuespec.com. How many people will this person misslead with deflamitory comments about companys that valuespec has a short intrest in. Bradley G. Evans
