Regardless of who makes the decision for a contract adjustment, I feel that it is critical and should be mandatory to notify the affected parties. In every other situation that I'm aware of where there's a binding contract, all parties must be made aware of, and agree to changes before they're made. I have been on the receiving end of one of these "surprise" contract changes, and never received a notice it was happening from the OCC, brokerage, etc.
