Hello,

Please see my comments below:

I am writing to express my support for maintaining or increasing margin requirements during periods of high volatility as outlined in the proposed rule change SR-OCC-2024-001. As a retail investor, I appreciate the opportunity to comment on this rule, which is crucial for protecting the integrity of markets and preventing potential abuses by market makers and borrowers. Ensuring that margin requirements are sufficient safeguards retail investors from undue risks associated with large, unanticipated market swings.

It is also vital to address the concerns of transparency in the financial system as evidenced by significant redactions in the proposal details, which hinder meaningful public review and commentary. The process for adjusting margin requirements must be clear and provide genuine protections against market manipulation and risks, rather than accommodating potentially risky requests from market players. I urge the SEC to approve regulations that prioritize the financial safety of individual investors, which is essential for a stable and fair trading environment.

Thank you
