Allowing the OCC to reduce margin requirements is a disaster in the making. Reducing margin requirements for clearing members who are at risk for default is irresponsible on the SECs part. If you allow this to pass, you will destroy the little trust that people have with the American stock market. It’s already bad enough that fines are so low that it’s being looked at as the “cost of doing business “ that if this passes I’m afraid that not only American investors but foreign investors will pull out of Wall Street. This cannot be allowed. You will destroy America.
