I, as a retail investor, am absolutely opposed to this. There should not be any halting of securities trading, short of a full market crash, and certainly not initiated by the exchange. This is the type of manipulation that occurred with Gamestop and AMC (amongst other stocks) in January. The NYSE may halt trading, but you can bet that it won't be suspended in dark pools, where most of this manipulation originates from in the first place.
