As a retail investor I vehemently oppose this filing. Having seen trading suspended by different brokerages in recent memory, an act that severely harmed my own financial interests, and with little to no action by SEC on my behalf or on the behalf of retail investors, there is no faith that these powers will be used as stated in the filing.
Instead, there is a perception that these powers may be used arbitrarily, or in the favour of institutions caught in a bad play
I see this proposal as detrimental for the transparency and sense of fair and free markets. Retail investors as well as foreign investor will see this as a threat to their investment and ask themselves why to participate in a fraudulent market.
