I am an eagle scout who has been involved in local and national volunteer programs working with disadvantaged children and adults. I have seen the consequences of our country placing a higher priority on companies and businesses than the people living in the community. Rules like this will just consolidate more power in the hands of large businesses, allowing them to further abuse and manipulate the system. For proof of what this nation will become if it continues on this course, you need look no further than this January when several large firms sold their stocks and then took away retail traders ability to buy those stocks. There is no question this impacts supply and demand which in turn impacts the price of a stock. The fact that no meaningful consequences have happened to these perpetrators yet speaks terribly of our nation. And yet this rule proposition would put even more power in these untrustworthy entities. I was once proud to be an American. But if our government won't protect its own people, I have no option other than to be ashamed of my country. And make no mistake - the world is watching how you respond to this blatant breach of the law. Instead of proposing new laws or changes to current laws, you owe it to the American people to enforce the laws you already have in place.
