I have nothing against shorting a stock. It is a healthy part of the market. However, I do have something against institutions holding too much power and taking advantage of conflicts of interest to secretly manipulate stock prices for their benefit, especially when they are losing. People have described the stock market as a casino. If we were to use this analogy, these institutions bet against the house and are now using fake chips to recover. I would imagine the house would not take that action lightly. Therefore, I am very much in favor of passing SR-NSCC-2021-801 with immediate effect.
