Over the past year I have continued to learn about the stock market and investing. While not a professional much of my due diligence has been to understand the key fundamentals of companies that are worthy of my investment. In my research I have come to understand that the process of shorting stocks, the inside relationships between market makers, hedge funds, media and other entities have made the stock less and less a level playing field. Inside trading information, naked shorting, use of dark pools and the failure to deliver patterns need to be address by a full review board. The key organizations that should have heavy handed over site to prevent manipulation of the market are inadequate for the digital age and how trades are processed. The DTCC, SEC enforcement and other entities must act now to protect the retail investor from abuses known to be taking place by companies leveraging their role as clearing houses and market makers towards a unfair advantage. Setting higher deposit requirements is one step that can insure the market against the too big to fail struggle we have faced before. Please act as soon as possible to curb the many abusive actions of the many players taking advantage of their position of power and control. Thank you
