Although I am not a US citizen, I invest heavily in the US market and have been disturbed for quite a while at how disadvantaged the individual investor is compared to big firms, especially hedge funds whose main role is to profit when businesses fail. It seems clear when we see stocks have huge buy vs sell volumes yet the price goes down and is suppressed, that HFT and sell walls, as well as naked shares and spoofing are in fact happening in dramatic fashion, with little to no repercussions for the perpetrators. \"Meme\" stocks such as GME and AMC are actually just companies investors like and want to help and be a part of, but they are being deprived of their right to do so by the unfair advantage hedge funds have in terms of resources, order flow access, and outright illegal activities such as spoofing, paying for attack ads on affiliate websites, naked shorting, etc. When retail investors in AMC own twice as many shares as exist due to synthetic shares, this is just fundamentally and ethically wrong. The stock market was made to help people achieve \"The American Dream,\" not help 1% of people get filthy rich by ruining companies, destroying jobs and buying control of the markets. This rule is a small step in leveling the playing field and if anything it doesn't go far enough It's time to clean up Wall Street and give it back to the people. Thank you.
