Litecoin is the second cryptocurrency ever created and the first cryptocurrency made in the USA. It's use case is that it's a faster version of bitcoin that's less expensive to use and cheaper to mine, but complements it because it's devs community uses it as a testnet for new technologies and features that ultimately get integrated into bitcoin. Litecoin has investment interest because it's an absolutely scarce, synthetic digital asset, running on a secure and efficient blockchain. There are no good reasons to deny this proposal, but approving it would let the world know that the SEC wants to support and encourage financial and economic innovation and is open for business.
