Dear Sirs and Madams,
I email to raise my support of the allowance for ETFs for Bitcoin (BTC).
The emergence of cryptocurrencies, not just Bitcoin, is a major technological advance that cannot be ignored. The applications are endless, from payment remittence to securing the entire lifecycle of a drug from creation to being consumed by an individual. The last example means a safer and more regulated drug deployment which is currently saturated by black market goods.
In regards to the ETF, my parents, like a lot of older individuals, barely know how the text, let alone manage their own cryptocurrency wallet (which is currently quite difficult). Yet, every monthly dinner, they always are asking how to get into cryptocurrencies and quickly wave it off due to the current difficulties. An ETF would allow my parents to safely invest, mainly due to them not having to manage the funds, but they are also safe due to the insurance model being proposed.
Lastly, I don't think that the US wants to fall behind in this technological advancement. Instead it should be leading the way and allowing safe avenues for this technology to flourish.
