Establishing this ETF is of the utmost importance. Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are being used more and more frequently, and many institutions and very high net worth investors are becoming interested in investing. In order for these currencies to truly be used as such (and not just volatile investment schemes) they need legitimacy. Many of these institutions are already invested, but through cryptocurrency exchanges that can be very insecure and can essentially manipulate the market based on how much control they have over buying and selling.
This ETF will signal a new age of cryptocurrency exchange by providing a safe and easy way to get involved on a large scale and legitimizing the process overall. It is important that the US develops digital infrastructure as it relates with DLT, else they will be left behind by much more technologically advanced countries.
