I am writing in strong support of the SEC approving professionally-managed ETFs for Bitcoin, Ethereum and other established cryptocurrencies. This will give retail and institutional investors the ability to access an important new and growing asset class from their existing brokerage accounts while sidestepping the highly technical issues around securing assets. I believe it will result in overall increases in investor safety and decrease investors resorting to alternatives that can involve fraud and scams. I have been a web engineering professional since 1993, including 10 years at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. I predict that blockchain and cryptocurrency technology will be just as widely successful and transformative to the business environment as the Web. The time is now to allow trustworthy industry players to introduce investment products to serve this growing market.
