I am writing this as a concerned citizen. For years, exchanges have gone mostly "unregulated" without any control from the government fulfilling the true purpose of bitcoin.
However the issue is that most of these exchanges make mistakes. It's normal, people make mistakes. However if there were to be a ETF created then it would allow people to securely invest their funds into bitcoin.
People have desires to invest in cryptos like bitcoin and currently there is no safe route for an institutional investor to do so at a large scale.
This is monumental to the entire ecosystem and would allow for the government to truly fulfill it's goal in protecting its citizens, this time in the form of financial instruments it would bring.
