Dear SEC Commissioners,

Please do not give in to industry pressures on Section 1504 of the Dodd-Frank Act (the Cardin-Lugar Amendment) - and make sure that ALL companies are covered, every country and every project gets reported, and loopholes that would allow large sums of money to go unreported are closed.

My Comment:

Our country can NOT be part of the problem. We need energy and economic security and I hate to see friends and family suffer. But this security must not be born on the backs of innocent people from countries that we rarely think about. Out of site out of mind must not be the order of the day. I am not a raging activist. I am not some tree-hugging progressive. I am an ordinary American. I love this country dearly. I want to be able to look at my two children in the face and tell them that I did something to help people less fortunate than us and not exploit them further. This is bipartisan and I pray that it does not become politicized. How can compassion and fairness be partisan? When you decide on this just do what my Mom always told me, "Let your conscience be your guide!" She is a wise woman.
