Dear SEC Commissioners,

Please do not give in to industry pressures on Section 1504 of the Dodd-Frank Act (the Cardin-Lugar Amendment) - and make sure that ALL companies are covered, every country and every project gets reported, and loopholes that would allow large sums of money to go unreported are closed.

My Comment:

I strongly urge the SEC to implement Section 1504 (regarding transparency of finances between natural resource extraction companies and governments. As someone who has traveled to & worked in sub-Saharan Africa (Liberia and Ethiopia) and follows events in that continent closely I feel especially concerned about the impact of corruption on the vast numbers of people who suffer unimaginable poverty even in countries that seemingly have vast natural resources such as oil and gems. Please do not cave into pressures coming from big business in this area. Many thanks.
