Dear SEC Commissioners,
Please do not give in to industry pressures on Section 1504 of the Dodd-Frank Act (the Cardin-Lugar Amendment) - and make sure that ALL companies are covered, every country and every project gets reported, and loopholes that would allow large sums of money to go unreported are closed.
My Comment:
I am adamantly opposed to Section 1504 because it will render the law ineffective by granting exemptions and creating loopholes for Big Oil. We deserve to know exactly what oil companies pay through their secret deals with governments in oil-producing nations, because it affects our pocketbooks and, ultimately, our democratic freedoms. Don't let them get away with this!
