Subject: File No. S7-42-10 - Comment from Jeff Griffin

Dear SEC Commissioners,

Please do not give in to industry pressures on Section 1504 of the Dodd-Frank Act (the Cardin-Lugar Amendment) - and make sure that ALL companies are covered, every country and every project gets reported, and loopholes that would allow large sums of money to go unreported are closed.

My Comment:

Regulation of Oil Companies is essential for encouraging responsible behavior. The lack of regulation (and taxation) has produced an oil economy that is long on greed and short on concern for the consumer. Failure to appropriately regulate companies as they engage in overseas business would be a serious oversight. Please follow the language of the law on Section 1504 in order to protect domestic and foreign consumers.
