I am begging you to require companies to disclose whether they utilize conflict minerals. The innocent children of war-torn Democratic Republic of Congo have been brutalized for decades in the name of corporate profit. Greater than 6 million people have died as a result of neighboring countries and warlords fighting over these minerals. GREATER THAN 6 MILLION... More than died in the Holocaust.
Armed gangs kill parents and abduct their children forcing them to become child soldiers and concubines. Congolese children are suffering hell on earth.
PLEASE, I am begging. I have watched children die from such trauma. Only you can require companies to do the right thing. On August 22nd, vote for mandatory disclosure.
