I am in favor of the SEC's proposal for S7-32-10. Transparency is the structure to a fair and free market that gives equal opportunities to all participants. If there are any factors that may lead to the gain or loss of a swap, it is important that that data be released to participating institutions or individuals. The opposition's main argument is there was no quantifiable data in the DERMA memo that clearly stated the economic benefits the proposal would entail if implemented. They also state that there are only costs to the implementation of the proposal. However, they do not argue against the potential economic growth that would be sparked by the implementation of this proposal. The proposal motivates more institutions to participate in large-security-based swap positions, so therefore I am in favor for economic growth and the values of a fair and free market.
