Trading based on nonpublic information is insider trading. Neither party has to report anything. True price discovery and market transparemcy had been an issue for years. This trend has to stop so markets can recover. Reporting swaps data Will also help prevent major market crashes. The major financial institutions cannot hide their debt and cannot get more than one loan on collateral, as with Archegos. Not reporting swaps data has put a strain on numerous banks and we the people have to pay for their mistakes. Reporting swaps will help with a stronger and more transparent market.
