I am disappointed and frustrated that I even need to submit a comment to the SEC about why I feel they should be working to prohibit fraud, manipulation, and deception. I have learned so much in the past year (along with millions and millions of other American retail investors) about the corrupt inner workings of the stock market, and how powerful hedge funds manipulate securities using swaps and other maneuvers. Simply put, myself and others have lost all confidence in the legitimacy of the stock market, and in the SEC's ability (or interest) in protecting retail investors. I anticipate that following the next inevitable market crash (that the SEC will be complicit in causing by looking the other way), an incredibly large amount of other investors who are now aware of the illegal practices conducted everyday without meaningful repercussion will never invest in US markets again. The people are watching now, VERY closely. Time will tell if the SEC will ever truly be on the side of protecting and advocating for Main Street and not Wall Street as is their charge, and the actions (or inaction) taken in the coming months and years will determine if these investors will ever return. Thank you.
