I am very concerned with the ways the stock market is leveraged against the retail investor. If the fines for breaking the rules (naked short selling, borrowing and selling non-existent shares) are so insignificant to these Market Makers and Hedge Fund Management Firms, then there is no chance that it will ever be a level playing field. When I purchase a share, I should know as a fact that no one else has rights to that share, and also that the company I own a share of will not be Cellar Boxed out of existence. Further, all bankrupted and de-listed companies should be closed out, as it is obvious that shorted shares are still on someones books. For example, the stock price of Sears, Lehman Bros, etc have been bouncing around. Why would that be if these companies no longer exist? Please pass this rule and level the playing field.
