I support any actions taken that would increase transparency in the markets. As we've seen in the past few years, publicly available information frequently does not include true market-wide exposure of securities due to positions being hidden through vehicles such as swaps, foreign investment reporting loopholes, or through abuse of failures-to-deliver. Because the reporting requirements are insufficient or simply nonexistent, manipulation is occurring in the market to the detriment of honest investors. As a retail investor, I wholeheartly support the SEC taking any steps to remove the ability for dishonest players to manipulate securities. This manipulation undermines trust in the U.S. financial system.
