I have been following GameStop price and Reddit forums this past year. I tried to purchase GameStop through Northwestern Mutual but they would not let me a year ago because it was being manipulated. From what I have seen, the majority of trades are buys. Those trades are made through dark pools. This tells me retail is not selling. I have seen shorting and ladder attacks to manipulate the price to prevent options from causing a gamma squeeze. The Failure to Delivers are hidden somewhere: puts, swaps, futures? Placing rules now to regulate the market is evidence the market is rigged against retail. Fines are a part of doing business and not penalties. The fact that the regulators go on to work with these companies is evidence enough for me of the collusion between everyone. I last half of my investments in 2008 and I have lost all trust in the markets after this fiasco.
