I am not normally one for increased government regulation but the problems in the stock market have become more prevalent and obvious in the last year. More needs to be done to prevent \"market makers\" and hedge funds from manipulating stock prices to their own advantage through mechanisms like dark pools. Being able to trade off exchange and in methods that the average investor can't is absolutely unfair and the SEC needs to level the playing field to prevent further manipulation, theft, and fraud.
