I have spent over a year watching the stock market very closely as the writing was on the wall in terms of inflation (despite what the Fed said). To my horror, I have spent the better half of the year watching major news outlets completely control the narrative around several big name companies to the point where they're publishing hit pieces against specific companies with completely false information literally day, after day, after day. Is this not manipulation? Jim Cramer got up on TV and told the american public to buy Netflix and then Netflix has one of it's worst runs in history. I've seen long-dead stocks like Sears and Blockbuster suddenly gain 100%+ out of nowhere, but at the EXACT same time as many of the NYSE-traded \"meme\" stocks. I've watched many of these \"meme\" stocks make major announcements and partnerships, only to be absolutely pummeled into the ground the next day despite every major broker showing 4:1 or more buy:sell ratios. After over a year of watching this closely, I'm horrified that I've kept my money in this ponzi scheme for so long and it makes complete sense to me why the general public have been driven to cryptocurrency, where at least the rules aren't blatantly broken without consequences. The worst part of all this? The few who do get caught, get a tiny slap on the wrist. The cost of doing business.
