First and foremost, thank you for taking time to consider comments from retail investors. As a retail investor, I believe we deserve a fairer, more transparent market, and this is a step closer to that. I also believe that fines should be more appropriate for the crimes committed by fraudulent players in this market. While Im not totally against short selling, I believe it has been abused and those counterparties should be severely punished accordingly. If Im a middle class American, trying to save for retirement, how can I feel secure in my investments if market makers pay brokers to profit off my orders? If retail feels as though the deck is stacked against them, then less people will invest in the markets, more people might choose alternative markets, and overall, it weakens America as a whole.
