I am in favor of new regulations that will provide more transparency in the market, particularly as it relates to swaps. It seems to me that retail is at an ever increasing disadvantage related to price discovery, and swaps further obscufate the information flow.
As an executive myself, I understand that the public interest must be considered when making corporate decisions. Since compliance officers are often the only line of defense to ensure proper data is reported, they should be held to a high standard, as their decisions impact far more individuals than the company that employs them.
