As a retail investor I am locked out of the actual stock market. 90-95% of all my trades take place via a dark pool. This is from the SEC chair Gary Gensler. This means that I don't actually have ownership of my stocks as they were never taken. Instead I get an IOU. Retail has no protection, no power to change the price, no power to gather information and the little info we do get is too old to be relevant and edited as a cherry on top. Transparency is a start but this is far from enough and if the penalty for commenting a crime is a fine than it is the cost of doing business for the rich. Do better. or better yet do anything productive for retail for once in the history of the SEC. I am considering never using the DTCC again and moving to Computer share for everything. They actually do their jobs
