As US Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis once espoused in 1914, "Publicity is justly commended as a remedy for social and industrial diseases. Sunlight is said to be the best of disinfectants; electric light the most efficient policeman." As an individual household investor, the proposed rule S7-31-22 release 34-96495 "Order Competition Rule", provides sunlight to what has become a dreadfully dark market. Internalization and payment for order flow have meant that virtually all household investor orders never see the light of a lit exchange where the laws of supply and demand guide price discovery. Without this price discovery, investors are left to know the cost of everything but the value of nothing.
