February 22, 2023 It is shocking to me that there is opposition to order competition. Stifling retail orders does not enhance price discovery - it only benefits price dictation. When the powers fighting for the status quo are allowed to place orders in the way that best benefits them, it is inherently disregarding the best interests of retail traders. I fully support the implementation of order competition as a first step, but we need far more regulation in our markets. It's absurd that someone like Ken Griffin would mock cryptospace as the wild west when his own firm has paid tens of millions of dollars for dozens of infractions. We need more regulation, more enforcement of regulations, and harsher penalties that would actually dissuade further infractions rather than being viewed as a cost of doing business.
