Hello,

I am glad to hear that the SEC is proposing amendments to the definition of an accredited investor. The highlights section of the press release notes that new categories would permit natural persons to qualify as accredited investors based on certain professional certifications and designations, such as a Series 7, 65 or 82 license, or other credentials issued by an accredited educational institution.

Would you please let me know if being a certified public accountant would or could qualify? For example, as a Sr Manager of Financial Reporting, I build 10K’s and 10Q’s for a living and know how to use them to make educated investment decisions. Looking forward to hearing back!

Thanks,

Matt Langford, CPA
