To be fair and give people equal access to all investment vehicles and to provide some protection, I suggest that the rule be revised to limit the amount a person can invest. If an individual has $2.5mm of liquid assets, then no limit is necessary. For the people who don’t have $2.5mm of liquid assets, an upper limit of 50% of his liquid assets allowed to be invested in hedge funds should be imposed to offer some protection that is intended by this rule, but it doesn’t take away people’s right to invest in this asset vehicle completely.
