I think we have just witnessed an even, in only one month, that fully demonstrates the need for small and large investors to be able to quickly hedge their long positions in inverse funds. While large investors may have multiple ways in which to do this, small investors do not. Making it more difficult to do so, as the SAC proposal suggests, puts the small investor at a decided advantage. That runs counter to every notion of a balanced playing field for the small investor
