I strongly disagree with any proposal to limit my ability to invest in leveraged or inverse funds. As a private investor, I have been utilizing these investment products for approximately 20 years for a small portion of my portfolio to enhance returns and to mitigate the effect of market downturns on the value of my portfolio. These products provide a very important and valuable option for me.
My experience is that investment companies and brokerage firms currently have adequate safeguards in place to ensure that investors fully understand the risks involved with utilizing these products. I believe that the government should not interfere with interfere with an investor's freedom of choice.
