I am an individual investor and have used leveraged and inverse funds for years for portfolio protection. I find it incredible that the SEC wants to further regulate this to the point of making it difficult or impossible for an individual investor to take advantage of this protection. If the SEC has this contempt for free markets then they are over appropriated and I intend to bring this up with Senator Lankford and Congressman Ohern in my district.
