I would like to voice my concerns with this proposed rule as an individual investor. Investing in leveraged/inverse funds has been something I have done since I first started investing. I do my research and make investment decisions like purchasing, holding, or selling based on market cues like any other security. I have had both positive and negative returns with these investments, just like with the traditional securities in my portfolio.
Regulating leveraged/inverse funds is an overreach by the federal government in the free market, aims to solve for a non-existent problem, and sets a dangerous precedent.
