I find that the proposed regulation of LI funds to be onerous and unnecessary. I have been a self guided investor since I started investing in the 90's and spend a lot of time researching each stock, ETF, or LI fund that I purchase. I am well aware of the volatility of those funds and weight that against the high rate of return they offer. Since I retired those funds have allowed my wife and I to go on a cruise every year, take my boys and their wives on cruises with us and more than doubled my income from SS. I feel that I am typical of the majority of investors who buy into these funds and by instigating these unneeded regulations you are in essence driving those funds out of existence. I resent the implication that I don't have the intelligence nor expertise to carefully evaluate the associated risks inherent in purchasing these funds. That is so far from the truth as to be in the realm of the fantasy fiction that I am addicted to.
