I am a 70 year old retired lawyer. I have mid 6 figures in retirement account and that constitutes almost all of my financial assets. This is the bulk of what my wife and I will live on for the rest of our lives. In these uncertain times, we need to be able to use all the knowledge and wisdom available to us to protect livelihood against the many serious economic risks we face. If be are impeded from using all the tools and strategies available to us, we are faced with the choice of putting essentially all our assets that will yield pitiful or perhaps even negative return. We are educated, informed people and we don't need or want the government 'protecting' us by limiting our investment choices. This supposed to be the "land of the free and the home of the brave," not the land of the fearful and the home of the timid.
